Simply put, we like to paint! Within our membership you’ll find just about all the art mediums represented: acrylics, oils, watercolors, colored pencil and pen and ink. Our members include beginners through advanced, with some who teach, some who sell their artwork and some who do both.
We’re always seeking to expand our artistic skills and learn new techniques, and so we schedule classes and workshops throughout the year. In April, we host a three-day painting retreat in West Harrison, Indiana. From the whimsical to the fine-art approach, there’s room for everyone who wants to create art and have fun doing it.
Regular meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month with the exception of May when it is the third Sunday because of Mother’s Day. Other exceptions include no meetings in April, August and December. Meetings take place in the Springfield Township Senior Center located at 9158 Winton Road, (behind the fire station) Cincinnati, OH 45231.
GCDA is a non-profit organization formed in September 1980 as an affiliated chapter of the Society of Decorative Painters (SDP) for the purpose of promoting interest in decorative painting and providing programs to increase learning and skills in a relaxed and fun environment. Membership includes the tri-state areas of Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and beyond.
If you enjoy creating art – regardless of your skill level – come join the fun!
